SWIC is a research and demonstration facility dedicated to wastewater and water treatment, designed to provide access to different types of wastewater for experimental and applied studies. In addition to its technical capabilities, the facility supports innovation through research, partnerships, and product development, while also serving as an educational platform offering site visits, internships, and academic projects. It incorporates advanced and resource-efficient technologies, including nutrient recovery, water reuse, and energy production, with the aim of promoting sustainable and carbon-neutral wastewater treatment solutions.
With the aim of making the facility an infrastructure available for use by its researchers, KTH signed an agreement with IVL in 2025 to access this pilot facility. In this workshop, we will present the pilot facility and the KTH access agreement, and we will brainstorm and discuss how we, as researchers at KTH, can make use of this agreement and the SWIC facility in our research and for future development.
The first 15 to arrive will get a vegetarian wrap and a soft drink!
