“The value of a river: uncovering local perspectives”
Lunch seminar with Anna Scaini, Stockholm University
WaterCentre@KTH proudly invites you to a lunch seminar with Anna Scaini, a researcher at Stockholm University, Department of Physical Geography. The seminar is about Anna Scaini's project "Putting locals first: mapping cultural values across rivers of the world" which uses the Tagliamento River, the last Alpine free-flowing river, as an example for studying ties between communities and their rivers for achieving sustainable development.
Time: Tue 2024-10-22 12.00 - 13.00
Location: Room Sahara, Teknikringen 10 B
Language: English
Participating: Anna Scaini
The project aims to evaluate proxies of socio-cultural services provided by rivers, with a focus on mapping locals' priorities and perceptions in managed and free-flowing rivers. By quantifying intangible cultural values, Anna seeks to illuminate how these values influence water resource management and decision-making processes.
We look forward to seeing you there!
